Terms of Service
Who we are#
Drafty is a tool that turns rough writing into polished social-media posts. The service is operated by Twelvefold Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong ("Twelvefold", "we", "us"). These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Twelvefold Limited. By using drafty.ink or any subdomain, you agree to them; if you don't agree, don't use the service.
Using the service#
- You may use Drafty to polish writing you have the right to use. Don't paste text you don't own or don't have permission to process.
- Don't use Drafty to generate spam, scams, harassment, sexual content involving minors, content that infringes intellectual property, or anything illegal where you live or where we operate.
- Don't try to disrupt the service, abuse the rate limits, scrape it, or reverse-engineer it. Reasonable security testing is welcome — please email us first.
- You are responsible for what you publish based on Drafty's output. The polish step preserves your voice; the words and the decision to post are yours.
Accounts#
- You can use Drafty without an account (5 polishes/day). With an account you get 10/day plus profile and history features.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, email [email protected].
- We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Content and ownership#
- Your drafts are yours. We do not claim any rights over what you paste in or what we produce for you.
- The polish step is performed by a third-party LLM. The output of an LLM is not deterministic and may contain errors — read it before you publish it.
- The Drafty name, logo, and site design are ours. Don't pass off your project as Drafty.
Pricing#
- Free, signed out — 5 polishes per day per browser.
- Free, signed in — 10 polishes per day per account.
- Pro — $12 / month or $99 / year (a discount on the monthly rate). Pro includes unlimited polishes for normal human writing, subject to a generous fair-use ceiling that's already in place to prevent abuse (see "Fair use" below). A real daily writer will never reach it.
Prices are in USD and exclude taxes. Taxes (VAT, GST, US sales tax, etc.) are calculated and collected by Paddle at checkout based on your billing country. We will give at least 14 days' notice on the home page before any pricing changes that affect existing subscribers.
Billing and refunds#
- Payments are processed by Paddle acting as our Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller on your receipt and is responsible for collecting payment and remitting taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the Paddle Customer Portal link in your receipt email, or by emailing us. Cancelling keeps Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy — short version: 14-day no-questions-asked window, after that case by case. Local consumer-protection rights (e.g. the EU 14-day right of withdrawal) always apply.
Fair use of unlimited Pro#
"Unlimited" means unlimited for normal human writing workflows — drafting, polishing, and iterating on your own posts. It does not mean automated mass generation, scraping, resale of polishes as a service, or operating multiple accounts to circumvent limits.
To protect the service from abuse we apply technical safeguards that real users will essentially never notice:
- A short-term burst limit (a small number of polishes per minute) — well above any human pasting / reading / editing rhythm.
- A generous monthly fair-use ceiling — high enough that a daily writer never approaches it; low enough that scripted abuse hits it within hours.
- Single-day anomaly review — accounts that polish hundreds of times in one day are paused pending a quick check, and the account holder is notified by email at [email protected].
We don't publish the exact thresholds because doing so would help the people we're trying to deter. If you ever feel a limit kicked in unfairly, email us — we'll lift it within a business day for any genuine use.
Service availability#
Drafty is provided "as is" with no uptime guarantees. We run on third-party infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, and an LLM provider) and their outages can affect Drafty. We will try to be available, but we don't promise it.
Termination#
You can stop using Drafty any time. To delete your account email [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we shut the service down — in the latter case we will give reasonable notice on the home page.
Disclaimers and liability#
Drafty is provided without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Twelvefold Limited is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for total damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, on the free tier, is zero).
Governing law and disputes#
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or your use of Drafty, are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction, except that this does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
Changes#
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date will change and material changes will be announced on the home page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
